This year was full of joys and challenges. The happiest moment was the time spent with my family, and I was also able to fulfill some of my dreams and achieve a little bit of my goal. Last Christmas was warm and happy, full of laughter and togetherness. As the New Year approaches, I remember my childhood years when I believed in Santa Claus. In my country, Christmas is celebrated in a traditional way, with church services, family gatherings, and festive dinners. I really enjoy this season. We exchange gifts with relatives and friends. We always have a Christmas tree, artificial but beautifully decorated with lights, ornaments, and a star on top. This year, we decorated our Christmas tree with red and gold toys and this time we put a red bow on top. We put it up in mid-December and take it down after the New Year. Christmas parties at school are fun, and I usually participate by singing or helping with the decorations. This year, my family played “Secret Santa.” Each of us secretly chose who we would prepare a gift for, and we decided to exchange gifts at exactly midnight, January 1, at 00:00. This has become a wonderful tradition that adds extra joy and excitement to the holiday. I have never celebrated Christmas abroad, but I spend New Year’s Eve at home with my family, watching fireworks and exchanging wishes. We have also celebrated New Year’s in my homeland, Gyumri. New Year’s Day is more relaxed, with traditional dishes such as dolma, fish, pilaf with cumin, and sweets. This year, I expect to receive canvases, painting supplies, and diamond painting supplies as gifts, and to give gifts to my relatives and family members. May the coming year bring happiness, health, and success to all of us.
